The Super Bowl
So, there were a whole lot of great (and strange) Super Bowl Commercials this year. Just take Mountain Dew’s performance for example…
Advertisements have become more and more eccentric through the years, but an unexpected trend that has emerged is the obsolescence of OEM ads.
Interestingly enough, Stellantis was the ONLY manufacturer to show up this year.
Sources point to the new administration causing other brands to forego advertising during the most watched event in the United States. Uncertainty around tariffs and budgets was enough to scare off everyone except Jeep and Dodge.
So, how valuable is it to feature your product during the Super Bowl?
Well, according to EDO (Official Ad Ranker for Super Bowl LIX), Jeep AND Dodge placed in the Top 10 most engaging commercials — Dodge placing second.
“Stellantis Claims Auto Spotlight After Rivals Back Out: Ads from auto brands are usually a Super Bowl staple, but they were conspicuously absent this year. With the spotlight all to themselves, Stellantis-owned brands Jeep and Ram triumphed. Both placed ads in our top 10 for TV outcomes, with Ram’s Glen Powell-as-Goldilocks spot generating 748% more engagement than the average Super Bowl ad and Jeep’s Harrison Ford-led ode to freedom outperforming the benchmark by 537%.”
These rankings are calculated by immediate reaction to the ad; Taking into account online searches, website traffic, and direct inquiries.
Judging by Stellantis’ performance, the juice was definitely worth the squeeze.
